We had our first meeting today. I am happy to report that it was a smashing success. Some highlights of the meeting:
- We had 22 attendees, counting three professors amongst them. Their presence helped to start the discussion and the round-table conversations that ensued.
- Professor Pablo Manyoma presented a very informative and precise talk about Integrated Solid Waste Management. Thanks for your excellent presentation!
- We then discussed our opinions and positions around this subject that affects everyone.
- For the language-focused section we discussed some idioms. If you want to know what they are, use the link below to access the Drive for the club and download the presentation titled "Idioms".
- For fun, we sang along some songs with the lyrics projected on the screen. We played the songs in increasing order of speech velocity. The results were not only interesting, but hilarious as well. If you want to see the songs and the videos that we used, you can find them in the link below, in the presentation called "English-Cub-Session-1".
- Finally, we announced that the next meeting will be May 29th, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on room 1004, building 357. Our main speaker that day will be professor Carlos Julio Vidal.
